Development on what would later become SCP - Containment Breach began around March 2012. The game received much more praise and attention than Regalis had expected, resulting in many people suggesting that he should try creating another SCP-based game with more content to it. This eventually lead to the creation and release of SCP-087-B on January 30th, 2012.

The game became a viral success, catching the attention of Regalis, who became inspired to create a more varied version of the game which deviated from SCP-087's original article. On January 19th, 2012, a YouTube user who goes by the name of "Haversine" released a short clip of an experimental game they are working on called SCP-087, based upon the SCP of the same name. I might take suggestions. The game (which I named SCP-087-B) got way more popular than I could have even imagined, and people started suggesting that I should make a more extensive game of some other SCP, with gameplay that isn't just walking down stairs. More SCPs to come if/when I can find good ones. It will also come with its own containment chamber in heavy containment. I plan to add 682 as an actual enemy to encounter and get killed by.This idea is still a work in progress and may not be implemented. I plan on giving this SCP more of a role after you free him as another memetic hazard.Wanders around the heavy containment and possibly the entrance zone. Will probably either be in heavy containment or light containment. Not much is planned for this object yet. Also going to be located in heavy containment. It will infect the player with ink unless the player is wearing a hazmat suit. Going to be located in heavy containment.More items will be added as I think of them and code them. Otherwise, it will stay as a Small First Aid Kit. Acquired by placing a Small First Aid Kit on the 1:1 setting.Injuries will not return if the player fully heals between using painkiller and when the painkiller expires. Injuries will return after a set amount of time.If the player would be killed without use of a painkiller, the player will still die despite using a painkiller. Useful to negate the movement speed penalty when injured to quickly escape from enemies. Using the item will temporarily reduce the player's injury level.
